Mongolians where masters of strategy. They could manipulate their enemies in physiological warfare and destroy them on the battlefield even when out numbered 2 to 1 all because of their superior strategy. They had many tricks up their sleeves ,but one of their favorites was the feigned retreat. The feigned retreat was designed to draw their enemies into an ambush. First a small force of Mongolian riders would meet their enemy on the battle field. After sustain a decent amount of casualties they would flee and lead the enemy on a chase taunting them and staying close enough ,so that the enemy would think they were close to catching them. Then the Mongolian riders would lead the exhausted enemy into a area where they had set up an ambush and their archers would destroy the enemy force.
Another important part of warfare is physiological warfare where you force your enemies to think a certain way and maybe that'll plant a certain idea in their head. The Mongolians would sometimes put prisoners in their army to make their army look bigger. They would also light more fires at night so that the enemy would mistake their numbers. |
